My 5 yr old daughter has burning upon urination. She also recently had a high fever but this has subsided. Her urinlysis had high WBC and a little blood in urine. The doctor says it is urethritis. What distiguishes the two?

Thank you for your question. Urethritis and urinary tract infections can only be verified through urine testing. Urethritis is a little different and you can read more about it here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001475/.
