Guide

Hello Jessica,

Erythematous mucosa refers to inflammation of mucosal lining any where in the gastrointestinal tract. Most commonly, it occurs in the stomach. Itcan be due to infections, trauma, auto-immune disorders and toxic agents that come into contact.

Jessica, your brother's treatment depends on where the inflammation is and what caused it. His gastroenterologist will prescribe proper treatment based on the where and why.

Regards,
Maryann
