Hi Again Emperor-

If you are having more symptoms, particularly the ones involving electrical feelings in your arms, you need to revisit the spine surgeon. This indicates problems with pressure on your nerves coming out of your neck. Did the surgeon do an MRI of your neck? The longer this goes on, the more difficulty it will get, so you really need to get back to that doctor and explain what is still happening with you. There should then be further testing to determine exactly what is going on and what needs to be done about it.

Spine problems often get better with physical therapy, but when they don't as in your case, it is important to be assertive in getting treatment before you end up with permanent nerve damage.

Good luck.

Emperor - PT means physical therapy.

Hi Emperor-

What exactly is the diagnosis related to your cervical vertebrae? The headache and scapular pain can definitely be related to that cervical issue, but what is the issue? What kind of doctor did you see? Did you finish PT? Did you do the exercises they gave you? If you can answer these questions, I can be of much more help to you. If you have done all the PT and everything and this is persisting, I am wondering what type of doctor you have seen, because if you had seen a spine specialist, odds are they would have ordered an MRI. Has that been done?

Please get back to me and I will do my best to help you sort this out.

Hello Anon - It sounds like you've been in quite a bit of pain for some time now, and that it may be getting worse. You haven't mentioned if you've seen your healthcare provider about this. While there are various things you could do to strengthen your muscles, including exercise and medications, it's critical to first understand exactly what you're dealing with so that you can get the right information to help you. The wrong information could aggravate your condition and make it worse, and we can't diagnose your condition from here.

When you're in pain it's the body's way of letting you know that something is wrong and needs your attention. Can you let us know more about your situation and whether or not you've been evaluated for your condition?
Thank you, Pat

Hi Anon - Thanks for writing back. I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by penificts, can you explain what that is?
When a doctor prescribes medications and refers a patient to Physical Therapy they are doing so because they have made a diagnosis of the patient's medical condition and determined the treatments that they believe are going to assist the patient in healing. If you are saying that your doctor has not given you the name of what you are being treated for then my suggestion is that you ask your doctor or your therapist what your diagnosis is. You have the right to that information, and should have it in order to take care of your health.

Are you saying that you have had these problems for a while and your treatment is not helping, or are you saying that you are having some new problems and need help with them? There are many, many things that could be causing the type of symptoms you have described. We really want to help you but it's impossible to do so without knowing your diagnosis and what you're being treated for. Can you please help out?
Thanks, Pat
