Q:

How likely is it that I could be pregnant? (Another one of these types of questions...)

I messed up on my birth control pretty badly at the end of the month last month and was just wondering if I missed a few pills and happened to start my period or breakthrough bleeding or whatever you want to call it could I possibly end up being pregnant later on?? So, when i was in my 2nd week of my pill pack I missed Wed-Mon , had unprotected sex and subsequently ended up quitting the pill altogether. I did get my "period", but just wondering if I should be expecting a surprise in a few weeks. Non-judgmental answers are most appreciated...thanks :)

Thanks Rosa. I appreciate your response. I guess I was just a little worried because I've been told that the period you get from being on the pill isn't a real one, in addition to the "sex" being days before the period started. I won't stress out though. Thanks.

umljprncss,

Because you had unprotected sex there is a possibility of pregnancy. However, if you got your period after this happened then you are not pregnant. You can verify this by taking a home pregnancy test. Try not to stress out, if you decide to get back on the pill remember to have a daily reminder, whether it's by setting up an alarm, taking it with breakfast, etc. just so that you don't miss any more pills.

All the best,

Rosa
