Anon - This type of ovarian cyst may disappear on its own in a few weeks, however, according to the Mayo Clinic, they can also continue to grow, and can grow to almost four inches in diameter. There is the potential for the cyst to bleed into itself or cause the ovary to twist, cutting off its blood supply and causing pelvic or abdominal pain.
