My partner was diagnosed with high risk hpv over 10 years ago. No warts. She had a leep procedure done. Can I catch HPV, from my partner who haven't had a positive test in over 10years. If I have oral sex with her will I still chance of catching the Virus. We been dating over a year with no sexual relationship. Now we are ready. Please help.

Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

Since your partner was diagnosed with a high risk of HPV she should be tested again before entering into a sexual relationship.  HPV can be present without any symptoms.

If she does not presently have HPV you do not need to be worried about contracting it yourself.  Also remaining monogamous reduces the risk considerably.
