ask: husband has parkinson and has almost stpped talking altogether

over the last 2 or 3 months he hasn't been speaking. When I say hi doesn't answer me. He lives in a nursing home most of the cna say the notice it all the time

Hi Anonymous,

Thanks for writing! I'm sorry to hear about your husband. With Parkinson's disease, symptoms begin mildly but progressively worsen over time. Difficulty speaking is one of the many symptoms of Parkinson's so, if your husband has stopped speaking altogether, it could be a sign that the disease is worsening. Please speak with his doctor to see what s/he thinks.
