Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid produces too much hormone.  Symptoms are accelerated metabolism which produce a sudden weight lose, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, sweating and many other. Treatment for Hyperthyroidism radioactive iodine, anti-thyroid medication or surgery.  Her doctor or a specialist such as an Endocrinologist can find the right treatment for her.  Hope this was helpful?
