Please let me know is it natural that my egg is not choosing any of my husband's (he is 8 mon younger to me) sperm yet or my age becoming barrier to choose them? I am going through the ovulation calendar and have exact 28 days cycle.
Please suggest if I am missing something...

Hi Anonymous and thank you for your question. Do not give up just yet. It is very common for couples to try for 18 months prior to getting pregnant. You indicate that this is your 5th try so I will assume that you have tried for 5 months already.

Based on the idea that both you and your husband have the ability to get pregnant here are some tips that will help get you prepared and better associate yourself with ovulation. There are also many other things that you can prepare for also.

Did you know that having too much sex will reduce the amount of 'good sperm' your husband will offer the new egg? On the other hand, having sex too little will reduce the potency of his sperm as they will be 'too tired' to make it to the egg. Sounds kind of silly. Anyhow, research suggests that having sex every two days around ovulation time is best.

There is also very little time for pregnancy to occur. If you are certain your ovulation time, this is great. If you are unsure, pick up an ovulation test from your local pharmacy. The open window for baby making is about 12 hours or so. Remember that sperm lives in a women's body for approximately 3 days though. They will keep trying until they die off and you will have to try again.

Since you have a 28 day cycle and are regular, you count 14 days from the day you start of your period which should be your ovulation time. Again, you can pick up an over the counter test to be sure.
