I am 50 and recently was diagnosed with vaginal discharge and want to know if there's anything I can do to prevent this happening again?

First the doc thought I had bacterial vaginosis which I'd never had before but turns out not that. Now she says a sort of cervicitis or 'cold of the cervix' is how she described it, I'm on another antibiotic now and it' seems to be going. dON NO HOW i GOT IT AS i'M NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE AND AM VERY CLEAN?????

Hi Erica,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. I am not sure I understand your question. Vaginal discharge is a very common thing that women experience. You indicated that your doctor thought you had bacterial vaginosis which will cause a "fishy like" odor...is this your concern?

Thank you for your additional comments so we may better assist you.
