I'm afraid to take HRTs due to the risks, but I'm still feeling anxious & tired and other symptoms of menopause. I don't understand why replacing hormores are risky? If they are already in our body, why are there risks involved? If I take them, will the symptoms return when I go off them? Are there any natural ways to help? I don't take supplements of any medications. I wanted to go through the process naturally. But I'm so tired of feeling like crap I may have to try them. I have changed my diet to healthy, but am not getting exercise. Thanks for any help.

Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for posting, the reason why HRT can increase health conditions such as cancer is because even though they are "hormones" they are not the natural hormones that your body produces. These are chemically-produced hormones that are meant to be identical to your hormones but that doesn't change the fact that they are chemically-made. With that being said, you still have the option of hormone therapy if your pros outweigh the cons.
