I am 65 and have been spotting off and on for 3months, why?

I was told my vagina has atrophied. I extremely dry. Had a complete hysterectomy 14 yrs. ago. Bladder lift due to complete pelvic prolapse. Could it be from the sling that is holding the bladder up? Or does the extreme dryness cause the bleeding? At times I feel pain like pms and discomfort in there.
