I had unprotected sex on sept 2. He pulled out and i was due for my period on the 8th and it is now the 15th and still have not got it. Sometimes i am late but im just scared.I sometimes feel like i am going to get my period but i get nothing. For the past couple of month my breast become tender like a wk before i get it and this time they dont hurt. Could it be that i am making my self late by just thinking about it and anxiously waiting for my period to arrive? Help!!

Chunky Monkey,

Welcome to EmpowHer and thank you for your question.

Yes, it is possible that you may be causing your period to come late because of the stress of having unprotected sex. But, at this point since you are over 1 week late, I would suggest to take a pregnancy test to ease your own mind. Home pregnancy tests are highly accurate when you are already late or have missed a period. If you are not pregnant, then it may just be late (since you mentioned having irregular periods sometimes) or it may be attributed to the stress you have been feeling lately.

I wish you the best.

Thank you for your advise. I will take a pregnancy test and maybe that will leave me at ease. I feel a little sharp pain on my hip bone as if i will be getting my period along with my lower stomach being a little sore but i have not gotten anything yet. I will keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks
