Q:

I am close to my period and I'm not as wet as I usually am... my husband and I do it a lot! Are we possibly doing it to much/ Can I be hurt by doing it when I'm not wet?

Dear julz19,

Are you still feeling arousal from having sex? or has it diminished some from having sex so often? I can't tell you if you're doing it too much since some people are perfectly content with having daily sex or possibly even more.

We get wet when we are physically or emotionally aroused. It could be that you may now require more stimulation than you did before--and by stimulation it could be visual, physical, etc. For a woman to have sex when she is not lubricated, it can be extremely painful, uncomfortable, and not pleasurable. If you feel like you are not wet enough, then consider purchasing a water-soluble lubricant that can help sex feel better.
