I'm 51 and am struggling with many symptoms. anxiety has become more pronounced. insomnia, palpitations, dryness also. I live in rural missouri and the doctors here have failed to help my situation. Can you please recommend a doctor in missouri, illinois, or iowa.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to our community for recommendations for a female gynecologist. I am confident that someone from our community is familiar with and can recommend a physician in Missouri, Illinois or Iowa.

I am from Connecticut and cannot give you a personal recommendation. However, I can suggest you contact your insurance provider. Most companies have a website. Here you can search for a gynecologist who accepts your insurance coverage, is located in the states you are interested in, area of specialty and gender.

Consider looking for a physician affiliated with a teaching hospital or in a major city. This increases your chance of finding a highly trained specialist who is up-to-date on the current treatments of symptoms associated with perimenopause.
