I think my period was 7/18ish. They usually last 4-6days and come around every 28 days. Sometimes due to stress, they are a bit irregular or I will miss a period. Until recently, my boyfriend and I practiced abstinence, so when I missed a period, my mind didn't jump to "am i preggers?" We used a condom the first time we had sex (while i was on my period) I think I missed a period but think I was ovulating around 8/26, which was a day that we fornicated. On that particular occasion, I am sure the condom slipped, but he didn't say anything. There was ejaculate on me, and surrounding areas, and times he had to adjust the condom during the sex. I took a pregnancy test today (because of the missed period around the 10th) but it was negative. I am now worried that on the 26th I could have conceived. However, I am not even positive that my dates (7/18 and 8/10) are correct. Can someone let me know what the likelihood of me being pregnant is, or if at the very least I should be concerned?

also, what you said about it taking up to 14 days, can u still have a period before that 14 days is up and also still be pregnant by the end of the 14 days after defective birth control issue? Sorry if this all seems common sense. It's been a while since i NEEDED to know anything about sex.

Since you are unsure of exact dates of your last menstrual period, but you do know the date when you had sex with birth control failure (August 26th).
You can use this date of 8/26 to determine when you can first take a home pregnancy test, and receive accurate results. It takes 10-14 days after sex (assuming you ovulate on this same day) before you become pregnant, did you know that?! It's not instantaneously, like many women assume...it takes almost 2 weeks for the sperm to reach the egg in the fallopian tube (or wait a day for it to be released), then for the newly-fertilized egg to travel from fallopian tube to uterus, and fin a cozy place to implant.
With this information...you can take a test 2 weeks after the birth-control-failure date, and know that your test results are accurate. You will know if your period has started within this time frame, too.

NO! I did not know that!! I thought it was instantaneous. So much for helping the sperm along by laying with your butt propped up on a pillow myth. Geez. and also, mother nature called, what a relief. thank you very much for information.
