Hi Gurpreet,
When you study is it usually in a quiet environment? It's important to completely cut out any possible distraction when you're trying to accomplish a good study session. Find a place in your house- or a place outside of your house such as a library, where you can find a quiet spot where you're comfortable and can concentrate easily. As far as distractions that you can control, keep your cell phone off (not on silent-- keep it away from you entirely if you can), make sure you've had a nice meal before getting ready to study- your brain needs to be fed and you don't want to realize you're hungry 30 minutes into studying. Also, do some breathing exercises to help you prepare for the next hour or couple of hours. If you plan on studying for more than 2 hours. Take a stretch break in between, go outside for some fresh air, get a snack, cleanse your mind of outside thoughts and continue.
You can do this! You are pursuing Engineering and you are the only thing standing in your way-- so step out of your way, focus, and you will succeed. Remember that when you are pursuing a career, your studies come first and everything else is second.
All the best,
Rosa
