Hello teeblinkz,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us for an answer why your period is late.

Postinor 2 contains a man-made hormone that prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation.

If you have a normal 28 to 30 day menstrual cycle, ovulation would have happened around October 7. Postinor 2 may have had no effect at all. Likewise, there was probably no risk for pregnancy because an egg lives only 12 to 24 hours after ovulation.

If you do not have any vaginal bleeding within the next three weeks, take a pregnancy test just to be sure, or call your physician for further advice.

Regards,
Maryann

Hello teeblinkz,

Sometimes, emergency contraception can change the length of your monthly menstrual cycle, making your next period come as much as a week earlier or a week later than usual.

Since you took Postinor 2 just days before your period was expected, it could have caused an upset and delay.
I cannot say for certain. Please check with either your doctor or the pharmacist.
