I can't stop urinating! What can I do?

Via Unsplash

I'm 19. I don't have frequent UTI's or anything. This just started earlier today and has gotten worse within the last couple of hours. As of right now, I have peed 5 or 6 times within THIS hour... I am about to go again. I can't stop urinating. When I go it barely trickles out. It doesn't hurt. It just won't stop. Please help!

I completely agree with you Chrissy. Once you have a UTI, it's a lot harder to try to get rid of it on your own (and very painful/irritating) than to go to the doctor for some antibiotics to clear it up completely.

I know this is a little late, but when I was younger I "waited" UTIs out before and sometimes once you have them they can just get worse and worse, even with cranberry juice. Cranberry juice and cranberry supplements work wonders for the prevention of UTIs, but if you already have a UTI sometimes it is best just to go ahead to the doctor to be on the safe side. As a 19-year old it can be a little scary to go to the doctor for a UTI, but it is definitely worth avoiding worse pain

Thanks. It's better today, but it is still somewhat there. I'll try to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice. : )

Hi conisgrr,

Although you do not have pain upon urination, it sounds like you may have a UTI. The symptoms of a UTI are:

Frequent and urgent need to urinate
Passing small amounts of urine
Pain in the abdomen or pelvic area
Burning sensation during urination
Cloudy, bad-smelling urine
Increased need to get up at night to urinate
Blood in the urine
Leaking urine
Low back pain or pain along the side of the ribs
Fever and chills
Nausea and poor appetite

It is not necessary for you to have all of these signs and symptoms in order for you to have a Urinary Tract Infection. Sometimes drinking lots of cranberry juice and water can help clear it out if it is a tiny infection-- but you must drink A LOT. If it doesn't clear out that way, then you may need to visit your doctor for some antibiotics.

Good Luck!

I am facing most of the above problems right now. I've been asked to take a urine and blood test.
