While facial flushing may occur while your blood pressure is higher than usual, high blood pressure is not the cause of facial flushing.

Flushing happens as a result of increased blood flow. Flushed skin is a common physical response to anxiety, stress, embarrassment, anger, or another extreme emotional state.
