ask: i get light headed at least a week before my period and then it goes away the day of my period could this be related in anyway to my period? if so what can i do to prvent it reoccuring?

Anon - The light-headedness could be due to many factors, one of them is anemia. You may want to have your doctor check your iron levels to see if you have an iron deficiency that is causing this problem, or you could try iron supplements and see if that helps. If you try supplements and they do not help then you should definitely see your doctor. Please keep us posted on how you're doing. Thanks, Pat

I always get light headed and shaky about a week before my period. My mom told me that it was a drop in hormones. For some reason sugar always helps. Drink some soda or eat some candy, it normally helps me. I hope this works for you too!
August 5, 2010 - 9:26am...or have something that can boost your blood sugar levels without presenting additional issues of its own, as refined sugar does. ;)
Try a whole food-- like fruit, for a 'quick-fix', and then follow it in a little bit with something more substantial like a protein+carb combination, for longer-lasting energy.
