Dear Anon,

Have you taken up a new exercise regimen?

Sometimes when bleeding occurs for so long throughout the month, there may be some cysts involved that are keeping your period from stopping. Do you sometimes skip a period? Then get it for weeks to come? I don't want the word "cyst" to scare you-- they are usually benign and go away on their own.

However, I do recommend you see your doctor due to the blood loss-- sometimes there is so much blood loss throughout the month that iron levels go down, etc.

Please keep us posted.
