I had my period that finished last week and 2 days later I have sore breasts, back pain, heart burn, feeling tired and can smell things more .Can I still be pregnant and thought I had a period but it wasn't ? I have a 1 year old who when I carried him from finding out till I had him 7 months I bled every time I went to the loo they said my placenta was low . What do I do? Shall I take a test or wait a while? Or could it be something else?

Hello Anonymous,

I really do not know. Has this happened before? Are the cramps similar to premenstrual cramps? Are you having any other symptoms? Is the cramping persistent or intermittent?

Hello Anonymous,

If you have regular menstrual cycles of 28 to 30 days, it is not likely that you ovulated three days after your period ended.

I do not think you are pregnant. However, if your next period is late by at least seven days, take a test.

Hello Anonymous,

If you had unprotected sex eight days before ovulation, and started your period on April 9, then you did not become pregnant.

Hi Anonymous,

If your friend's period is late by at least seven days, she needs to take a pregnancy test. That is the only way to know if she is pregnant.

Hello Alrod,

There is no chance that you could be pregnant. For conception to happen, you must be ovulating (one of your ovaries releases an egg) and you have unprotected sex.

When you are having your period, you have already ovulated. Secondly, during your period, the lining of the uterus is shed. This is what you see when you see vaginal bleeding. During pregnancy, the uterine lining remains intact.

I do not know what is causing your symptoms, but pregnancy is not a reason.

Hello Anonymous,

Considering your previous pregnancy history, give your gynecologist a call and report these symptoms that followed a recent period. Your physician may choose to order a blood pregnancy test.
