Hi,
I would follow the advice from you doctor, and just to let you know, that the spotting you experienced is most likely not from implantation bleeding, since it happened around "day 53" of your cycle. Implantation bleeding usually occurs about the time you would have been expecting your period (around day "28-ish").

Just wanted to let you know that it is unlikely, but not impossible. I'm happy to hear that you have a supportive partner, and try to "hang in there" for another week. That seems like a long wait!

Hi, Anon, and welcome to EmpowHer. Thank you for your question!

So you had a period from May 9-13th? (not June?)

That would make May 9 Day 1 of this cycle, which would put you right now on Day 55, or about 25 days late. That's very late, and some of the symptoms you're having (sore breasts, fatigue, spotting) are definitely signs of early pregnancy in many women. What day did you go to the doctor?

The way home pregnancy tests work is that they look for HCG in your urine. That's a hormone that's associated with pregnancy. It may be that there wasn't enough HCG in your urine for the home pregnancy tests or the doctor's test to find yet, but he thinks that if you wait another couple of weeks, there will be.

Spotting can mean nothing at all, or it could be the signal that a fetus is implanting in the uterus. Often some mild cramping comes along with it. But many women feel nothing at all when that happens.

Are you hoping to be pregnant, or hoping not to be? How are you feeling about the possibility?
