Hello and thank you for sharing you question.

It is possible to become pregnant after having a tubal ligation.  Let me explain.  In the tubal ligation surgery the fallopian tubes are damages so they can heal themselves again.  When they heal, the scar tissue closes the tubes and creates a blockage.

Occasionally however, there is a small opening where it didn't completely close. This hole is called a fistula and it allows sperm to travel to the uterus where it can fertilize a released egg.

Since you had one of each result on the pregnancy tests, I would say "third time's the charm."  Sometimes it is best to simply have your doctor do the test instead of a home test to ensure accuracy.

Also analyzing your periods can be a good sign of knowing whether or not you might be pregnant.

Let us know if you have any more questions along the way and good luck.
