Q:

I had sex about a week or two before my expected period, what are the chances I'm pregnant? And can you have a period, and still be pregnant?

I don't know the exact date of my last period, but I believe it was around August 18th. I've always had a very irregular cycle, going anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks between periods. I had unprotected sex and my boyfriend came inside me on September 11th & 15th. I have several questions. What are the chances that I am pregnant?? At what point, if I don't get my period, should I take a pregnany test (& the results be accurate)?? Is it possible that I might get my period anyway, and still be pregnant? I've read that it is possible, but it's usually an irregular period. Mine are usually fairly light & only last about 3 days. What might be different if I am still pregnant? Also, I can usually tell when I am about to start, I get really awful cramps for about a week before hand. I have not had this at all or any other signs that I might be getting ready to start my period, or that I might be pregnant. Except that I have had to pee a lot. Any information and advice would be helpful, thanks!

Hello Anon

No, if you got your period after sex then you're not pregnant. It sounds like you have an irregular menstrual cycle.

Hello Anon

If you got your period after sex with the "guy" then you can't be pregnant from him. You are pregnant by your boyfriend. The dates make sense too.

So I last had unprotected sex on july 7 & July 10. My last period before I had sex these days was June 27th. I was expected to get my period July 23. I took a test on July 24 and it came out negative. Days passed by and I wouldn't get it so I took another test on July 29th, nothing happened, I put it away in a bag. I ended up getting my period on July 31 I'm currently on it so I thought oh good. But when I was going to throw away the test I had taken 4 days ago I saw that there was a VERY VERY faint line but I'm currently on my period. Could I still be pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

No. The test result is old and invalid and you are currently having your period.

Hi ladies, I'm really hoping someone can help me out here I'm stressing and I know it's bad for the baby. So my husband and I were having issues and were at the verge of a divorce and I went a little wild and hooked up with a guy May 4th like at 5am, I don't remember if he even came at all. But later that night we had unprotected sex again but he pulled out. Now 2 weeks later May 17th I got my period and it lasted about 5-7 days after 6 months (im irregular, diagnosed with PCOS) 2 weeks later my husband and I got back together. On June 6th and on for a whole week we had sex a lot and he obviously came in me every single time. On June 27th I was supposed to get my period and about a week before my breast started hurting so I felt like I was getting my period again. 6 days after my missed period, I took a pregnancy test and I'm pregnant. According to my LMP my Due date is February 21st. I am extremely nervous that there is a chance it isn't my husbands and the stress I feel is immense. Someone please help!
P.S. when I was diagnosed the Dr. said if I lost about 20lbs it would help me get my period and get pregnant and I have been losing a lot of weight. (That's why I think I got my period)
