Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your question and concerns about losing your virginity and future marriage.

There is no way your future husband can tell that you are not a virgin. It is up to you to tell him. That is your choice.

In some cultures, it is very important for a woman to be a virgin at the time of her marriage. the bed linens from the wedding night are examined for signs of blood. Blood from the rupturing of the hymen is a sign that the bride was still a virgin until the marriage was consummated.

Not every woman will have bleeding or spotting when she has sex for the first time.

The hymen is a membrane that partially closes the opening of the vagina. Traditionally, an intact hymen is a sign of virginity.

Medically speaking, the concept of an "intact" hymen is a myth. Hymens vary in shape, size, and thickness. Among the multiple possibilities are hymens that surround the entire vaginal entrance, with an open space in the center, and hymens that appear open with a thin line of skin down the middle. Most hymens don't fully cover the vaginal entry so that menstrual fluid can leave the body.

Hopefully, your future husband will be a man who loves you as you are and lose of your virginity is not important. If is it important, then you need to be honest with him.

Regards,
Maryann
