Q:

I had unprotected sex on 26, 27, 28 morning of July, and took postinor 2 pills, am I safe?

I took the first pill by 2pm and the second pill by 10pm, since postinor 2 pills are still effective within 72hours of unprotected sex. I hope I wouldn't get pregnant

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Postinor 2 is effective in preventing pregnancy by preventing ovulation.

As long as you took the first dose within 72 hours of the first unprotected intercourse, and should have taken the second pill exactly 12 hours later, you should have benefited from its ability to prevent pregnancy.

You will know it worked once you have vaginal bleeding or your next period.

Regards,
Maryann
