lung infection, akles are very big taking water pill 40mg once a day. tired so tired. They keep checking me for lupus but cant say what it is. This has been going on for years over 5. My hair started coming out about 4 years ago but not to bad and then just stopped. i just know that I am tried of no answers. I feel so bad 4 days of more out of the week an still trying ot work. I am by myself so I have to work. Any help thank you cathie

every bone in my body hurts, i feel like 100yrs old...i had back surgery 5 yrs ago...lumbar 3 & 4 i think...thats why my right leg hurts....across my back under my arms pull, and from my elbos down to my finger tips ,go numb three or four times a day . i take thyroid med,,,,the dr. i have to go to is free....my husband lost his job 3 yrs ago and can't find a new one. thats, were the stress comes in. she says it looks like i could have lupus....i knew 2 people who have died from it....20 yrs ago. i have a appointment on 8/24 with another dr.

Hi Cathie,
I'm so sorry that you're going through so many symptoms without any answers. Have you tried getting a second opinion from another doctor? You don't need to go through all of your tests all over again but you can ask for a copy of your medical records from your current doctor and seek another opinion from a second doctor. Testing for Lupus can be quite extensive but usually there are some distinct symptoms that include:
Fatigue
Fever
Weight loss or gain
Joint pain, stiffness and swelling
Butterfly-shaped rash (malar rash) on the face that covers the cheeks and bridge of the nose
Skin lesions that appear or worsen with sun exposure
Mouth sores
Hair loss (alopecia)
Fingers and toes that turn white or blue when exposed to cold or during stressful periods (Raynaud's phenomenon)
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Dry eyes
Easy bruising
Anxiety
Depression
Memory loss
You don't have to experience all of these symptoms in order to be diagnosed with lupus because no two lupus patients are identical. If you feel like this is what you have but have yet to be diagnosed. please feel free to seek a second opinion after 5 years of testing.

I have been to more than one Dr. but, its like no one will comment to the word lupus. I am going back to a new Dr. this afternoon I am off work today because my head hurts and my akles are still swelling. my akles joints have been hurting for weeks. My finger pads are so bad I have to keep them covered all the time with I work. They keep braking open and they just bleed. Five years of keep them covered has made me so crazy I try and hind my hands I dont go out mush any more because people ask me what is wrong I have no anwsers. I think if I could say what was wrong I would be ok with it, it just not knowing. Thanks you so much for your coments. Cathie

Went to the Dr. I have to go have some more test tomorrow aftr work. He changed my diabetes medicines so mybe that will help. He thinks one of the meds I have being taking for diabetes is making my legs swell. I cried so I think he is tring to do what he can. He told me that he had a person that keep coming up negative and she got very sick and it was only then it showed positive so why is lupus so hard to find?
