ask: I have had plantars warts on my feet

I first had the plantars warts back in July of 2010. They returned, and my foot doc treated them, then they returned again and this third time we did outpatient laser surgery.

Have any of you ever had these warts and they kept coming back over and over? I am afraid of them returning yet another time after they ones that were just removed heal.

Any suggestions/advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Plantar warts can be annoying. They are more common among children and teens, but can occur in adults also. These warts often are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus could have been picked up from walking barefoot on an unsanitary surface (for example).

Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.
