I don't know what this may mean? Do I have some vitamin deficit or something like that? the horizontal ridges go until the middle of my nail (it just sort of started), what do you suggest I do? thank you.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. Nail ridges are usually caused by some sort of trauma. If you have them on your toe nails, your shoes you wear may be too tight for example. If you hit your nails on something, this may also cause the ridges. Age also may cause discoloration or nail ridges. Another reason, they may also be caused by nutritional issues. Have you seen a doctor about your nails yet? You may want to make an appointment to determine the reasoning for yours specifically. There are treatments available.

For more information, you can visit our nail ridges information site here https://www.empowher.com/condition/nail-ridges.

Please let me know if this helps.
