Hi phuong - I'm glad you were able to see your doctor. You may also find that a support group would help in dealing with this. You're welcome to start one on our site, or you may want to join an existing one. One organization that I like is Daily Strength, here's the link to their shingles support group: http://www.dailystrength.org/c/Shingles/support-group

Hope you're doing better and that you'll stay in touch.
Best,
Pat

Hi all
I guess I'm over with shingles, my advice to all of you is seeing the doctor and take the antiviral right away, in my case I only have 5, 6 blisters, I think the med. control the outbreak.
Thanks to all for the support in the past few weeks, I was stress out as worrying that the painful outbreak will come
I'll stay in touch

Anon - It takes a medical exam to make an accurate diagnosis and most likely your doctor is absolutely right. The condition, however, is shingles, not shringles. Antivirul drugs significantly reduce the severity and length of the outbreak. We have a lot of information about this condition on our site, this article is a good one to start with in understanding more about what causes shingles and how it's treated: https://www.empowher.com/shingles/content/what-shingles

We hope your treatment goes well and you feel better soon.

Hi Pat, thanks for your reply, I saw my doctor on Monday 8/23, start taking Acyclovir and Prednisone on 8/24, until today 8/28 no rashes develop but I do have soothing pain and tinkling in my body and fingers, I like to know if the rashes is comming?

Hi Phuong

That feeling could mean other nerves are affected. Did you feel that way before the first rash? Some people can tell when they are about to have an outbreak. Shingles usually erupts along one nerve, but it can erupt in multiple places at once. Hopefully your anti-viral meds will tamp down other outbreaks.

As far as the discomfort, ask your doctor for something topical to put on the very irritated spots. You may also need medication for the nerve pain. Your doc can prescribe that as well.

Shingles is a miserable thing to have. I hope you get better soon.

Are you asking if you will develop a rash in the future, even after taking the medication?

Are you asking if your current symptoms (I assume "shooting" pain and tingling in body and fingers) are indications of a rash?

It is important that if you are having any type of pain or tingling, especially if this is new and has started since taking new medication, that you call your doctor very soon and tell him/her of these symptoms. Shooting pain and tingling need to be reported to your doctor.

Hi Alison, so far another 2 blisters appear near the old ones, beside that there is no outbreak, and yes I feel the tingling in my body after taking the med, it is at my fingers, my toes, my head, my arms...
My concern is if the outbreak already be controlled by the drugs or it'll come, and per your advice I'll call my doctor tomorrow
