Hi Anon,

Thank you for being a part of the EmpowHER community and sharing your question.

First, take a deep breath and try your best not to jump to conclusions.  Secondly, it's important to note not all breast masses are cancerous.  About (90%) of breast tumors are non-malignant.  However, I realize when you find a lump in your breast it's un-nerving and you want answers immediately. I know trying not to be concerned about cancer is easier said than done from personal experience.

Do you have any family history that you are aware of?

Common causes of a breast mass include: Infection, injury, non-cancerous growth (cyst) and cancer.

Taking action might help to calm your nerves.  Call and make an appointment to schedule a mammogram and biopsy.  If you've already had your mammogram and are awaiting your biopsy then you're moving in the right direction.

I hope this helps.

Be well,

~Gillette
