Q:

I have medial collateral ligament knee pain. I recently joined a gym and where I started using a treadmill and an eliptical. Could this be the reason for my pain, and should I continue this excersise?

Guide

Hi,f
Are you having any other symptoms in addition to the knee pain? The symptoms of a medial collateral ligament injury include pain, which can range from mild to severe, depending on how serious your injury is, stiffness, swelling, tenderness along the inside of your knee and the feeling that your knee may give way under stress or may lock or catch. Injury most often happens when the knee is hit directly on its outer side. The ligament also can be injured through repeated stress. Diagnosis is made by physical examination and a MRI may be recommended. I suggest you have your knee evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon before continuing with your gym exercise routine.
Thank you for your question.
