I have a question concerning my menstrual cycle

Usually i get my period at the end of each month. In December 2016 my period came on the 23rd or 24th and lasted for like 5 days. I was home in Nigeria at the time, but i travelled back to Canada on the 13th of January and on the next day which was the 14th, i got my period again. I expected it to have come at the end of January but it came really early. So now i'm confused, i don't know if that messed with my cycle and if my period is supposed to come early or late this month of February. I also recently had unprotected sex but he didn't ejaculate in me, he pulled out way before he could. But then that has me worried i might be pregnant because if my period was supposed to come early this month it would mean that i'm currently late. Please help.

Hello, Anon.

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.

A trip like that might have an effect. Sometimes lifestyle changes can cause a period to be off. Stress, anxiety or illness can also cause occasional irregularly. I think it's unlikely you are pregnant as you seem fairly sure there was no ejaculation inside you. Using protection is much safer, though, than relying on the pullout method, so you might want to think about that for future.

Try to relax and wait for your period to arrive. If it does not come at all, to ease your mind, you can always take a home pregnancy test.
