Definitely agree with Alison that it's important to talk with your doctor or counselor as soon as possible. But in the middle of any panic attack, I encourage people to focus on the idea that they can handle it. A huge part of panic attacks is the feeling that you are out of control! If you can segment your brain off and tell it that you ARE in control and you're going to figure it out - even if you figure out the solution later on - oftentimes the panic subsides. Anxiety is a sneaky disorder that gets so much of its' power by undermining you. However you can take the control back from it usually makes a difference.
Hope that might help your situation a little bit!

Can you tell us what type of "attack" you experienced?

What have you done in the past when you had this type of attack (as far as treatment)?

Please call your doctor first thing Monday morning, and discuss your symptoms, treatment options, as well as prevention options in different situations (while driving, taking care of children, cooking, etc).
