irritating to sleep in! The air coming out made me feel like I couldn't breathe. When they woke me up I had a headache and my eyes felt irritated my throat was very dry. Is this normal to feel like this. I don't think I can sleep with this thing! I was also told that sleep apnea does not go away even if you lose weight but it does help if you do lose weight. I have a phobia of closed in spaces is this machine going to work for me? I have been extra tired all my life don't know if this is going to help.

These are all questions which you should discuss with your doctor and the individuals who administered the sleep study. They are the ones who deal with the equipment every day. I can offer a few suggestions: was the oxygen humidified? No moisture in the air can cause eye irrtiation and a dry throat . Also, you might be allergic to the plastic in the mask.
