I may have an adductor strain, is intercourse not a good idea?

I'm seeing my doctor next week, but was hoping for an answer sooner. I do not have severe pain. I have a dull, sore pain in the crease of my quad to my hip and moving around toward the buttock. Often, stretching the quad/hip flexors and/or sitting for long periods makes me feel fatigued. I am concerned about stretching the pained area or over using those muscles.
My question: Is intercourse of any kind a bad idea with these conditions?

Anon - Since you have concerns that are serious enough to warrant a doctor's visit it would be best to avoid any activities that you feel would cause you pain or lead to more bouts of fatigue.Good luck at your appointment, and will you let us know what you learn? Pat

Hi, Pat.
Thanks for replying. It is a tear as I feared. 4-6 week recovery time. My PT is amazing, though, so I'm pretty confident that it won't be longer than that. Not looking forward to the soft tissue massages.

Hi Sylvia - Sorry to hear that, but glad that you have a good therapist - it makes such a difference! I hope you will add some type of reward system to your schedule after each treatment - not necessarily something that costs money - just something to lift your spirits and help you through the healing process. Take good care of yourself, and I hope you're feeling better very soon! Pat

Oh, Pat, thank you!
I will definitely heed your advice. It is a very painful therapy session. Well, not at first, but after the fun warm part, he gets in there and whoa! At any rate, I will need a pick me up right after. My poor hubby is doing soft tissue at home per docs request and he feels horrible afterwards, but he knows it's for my own good.

Take care.
