I'm taking up Diane 35 and I missed 1 pill in week 1 (5th day) but took it right away at same time as the next pill. My problem is that I had sex the night I missed the pill. What are the possibilities of getting pregnant?

I have just been back to using Diane 35 after maybe 2 years without taking it. I recently just finished my first cycle after taking my first set of pills. On the second day of my period (also supposedly my first day to start a new set of Diane 35), i had sex and also missed taking the first pill. For my second pill i took it about 12 hours late. Is there a possibility to get pregnant? I have PCOS, by the way.

hi I was supposed to start my next pack last week but only started it again today. so I missed 7 tablets. I also had sex with my boyfriend. can I be pregnant? should I continue or stop taking pills.thanks

Hi Anon,
Can you be a little more specific-- when did you have sex with your boyfriend? Did you use a back-up method, such as a condom? If you had unprotected sex then there is a chance of pregnancy but you should still continue taking your pills as scheduled. If your next period is late, please take a pregnancy test.

Hi Rosa,
I had sex with my boyfriend on the 5th day that i was supposed to be taking the pills. there were also no back up methods used.thanks for replying.big help:)

Hi Anon,
Thanks for replying. Having unprotected sex on the 5th day of missing your pills can result in pregnancy. Continue taking your pack of birth control pills and take a pregnancy test if your period is late or missed.

February 15, 2011 - 10:44amYou can read your prescription pamphlet for reassurance, as it does tell you that missing one pill (and taking it as soon as you remember) does not increase your risk for pregnancy.
