I missed a few BC pills and bled/spotted, now I've finished my pack but no period?! Am I pregnant?

Okay so I'm on combination BC, been taking it for like 6 months and never had any issues. This month has been crazy and somehow managed to pill a few pills (not in a row). After I missed 2 pills, I had a small amount of bleeding like really not much at all just like discharge (sorry if tmi) and now a few days later I have finished my pack and onto my 7 pill free days although so far I am not bleeding as I would normally. Just similar to the previous light discharge etc. Was worried because me and my partner have frequent sex without using a condom so I took a HPT and it was negative... Still concerned that I may be pregnant though. Any ideas?

Hi, i know this may sound crazy but ive missed 6 mini pills within the first 2 weeks of starting birth control.... i tried to double up when i could... i had unprotected sex 3 times because i thought i would be safe doubling up...i started my birth control at the end when my depo shot when it wore off ...should i stop taking the pack or should i take the rest of the pack to see if my period will come? My 3rd weeks starts tomorrow and doubling up is making me very sick

Hi Anon,

Thanks for your question! Nothing is too TMI when it comes to your health, so no worries.

It sounds like you missed the pills later in the month, which shouldn't be as bad since your body would have a reserve of hormones. Also, little to no bleeding is perfectly normal while on the pill and doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant.

The pregnancy test should be around 99% accurate from the day of your missed period, and even more accurate a week later. Perhaps you could take another test after your pill-free week is finished. If you're still concerned, please consult your doctor.

Does that help, Anon?
