Q:

I missed taking my starting active pill for birth control and had sex, is there a chance I'm pregnant?

I usually take my pill at the same time and I got down to the placebo pills and I didn't take the last 3 placebo pills. I am a Sunday starter, and I had sex on Saturday, the last day for my placebo pills. I also had sex again on Sunday and forgot to take the first active pill to a new pack. I took my missed pill on the following Monday but not until later on through the afternoon, and my regular pill at the usual time. Is there a chance I could be pregnant?
Thank you.

Guide

Hi Anelesyvette,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Anytime you miss taking a birth control pill you increase your risk for pregnancy.

Did you double up on your pills once you realized you missed? Anytime you have a situation like that and you decided to engage in sexual activity you should use a back up method (i.e. condom).

Be well,
