I need help i got an abortion on 25th february under general anestitic i was 8 weeks 2 days pregnant i also had an implant on the day however after that iv been going through problems like constant bleeding which was fine because it was normal to bleed for 4 to 6 weeks i had my period end of march and again on begining of april but now i am still bleeding is this normal? the pains are like period cramps and im not sure what is happening its nearly 2 months and im still bleeding is this because of the implant or anything else? Please help thank you

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher..

You may have some bleeding after your abortion. This is normal. You may pass a few clots about the size of a quarter. It’s normal to have

  • spotting that lasts up to six weeks
  • heavy bleeding for a few days
  • bleeding that stops and starts again

It’sOK to use pads or tampons, but using pads makes it easier to keep track of your bleeding.

It’s also normal to have no bleeding after an abortion.

If you have any concerns, it is very important to call your treating physician.
