Because I took 2 EC pills last month plus my birth control. She said it was brown because it was time for it to come out. She said inside is brown and when it comes out is red sometimes. She said is old blood to not worry but I can't help it being worry I'm about to finish with this pack of pills on Friday and start a new one on Saturday and I haven't gotten a period. Will it be the same next month?

Ok so on Sunday I stared to get brown discharge again and on Monday it was reddish Pink and just a little brown but every time I would wipe my self it was reddish pink and in the pad it was reddish and little tints of bright red it last two days could this possible be my period that was late and I'm on placebo pills or could it been just spotting. Also the blood smell the same like when I get my period. I was cramping earlier today but I'm not bleeding anymore.

I agree with fchacon's suggestion, you should believe on your doctor. Worries are important it helps to protect against possible illness and dangers, but I would like to say we should not be anxious. know about abnormal menstrual cycle

Hello Marrie,

Your doctor was correct.  Your cycle will return to normal as long as you do not take EC.  You do not need to take EC if you are on birth control pills.  The hormones in the pills are enough to prevent pregnancy as long as you take them as instructed.

Remember that blood is blood no matter where it comes from in the body.  You experience different colors of blood if you cut yourself.  New blood is a brighter red then old blood.  It is the same with menstrual blood.  Brown blood is no cause for alarm and is perfectly normal.
