Q:

I took acetaminophen regulary for my migraine headaches while I was pregnant. My son was born with Wilms tumors in both kidneys. Could the acetaminophen played a part in my son having kidney cancer?

Acetaminophen is not considered a teratogen (a drug that can cause birth defects), and is considered safe to use during pregnancy.

You can read more about acetaminophen and its effect on the fetus during pregnancy at: OB Focus.

I am sorry to hear that your son has kidney cancer. How is he doing? How are you doing?

Thank you for your response.... I just found it today actually. (a little late). My son is almost 9 years old now and has been cancer-free since the age of one! He is doing fantastic! I am great too! I had just saw a blurp on tv about Tylenol/ pregnancy/ cancer. Thought I'd ask.... Thank you again!
