Okay thanks. But can I expect my period when it's due? Because I have an irregular period. It only lasts for 4 days.. could the cramps be a side effects of the emergency pill?

Hello Anonymous,

If you have a history of irregular periods and took an emergency contraceptive, which can cause changes in the menstrual cycle, I cannot say when you can expect your next period to start.

I suggest you use some type of birth control such as condoms if you are sexually active until your next period starts.

hey. I had sex two days after my period ended and the condom broke and he pulled out immediately. I took the morning after pills 16 hours later. now I've noticed brown spotting and have cramps. could it be a sign of pregnancy?

Hi Anonymous,

No. This is not a sign of pregnancy. There was never a risk of pregnancy, because it was too early for ovulation two days after your period ended. There was no need to take an emergency contraceptive.

Hello Anonymous,

Since you had your period seven days after taking and emergency contraceptive, it means the pill worked and you are not pregnant.
