I took a test and they found out I have no cortisol?

I have no cortisol in my bosy and I took presisone for several years for Reumatory Arthritis, Is there a way for me to get back my adrenals to working better> What tests would they give me to see why this is happening to me?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Treatment of adrenal insufficiency involves replacing, or substituting, the hormones that the adrenal glands are not making. Cortisol is replaced with a synthetic glucocorticoid such as hydrocortisone, prednisone, or dexamethasone.  It's important to discuss this with your doctor and he or she can find the right treatment for you.
