Hi pinkysh19,
Some women have miscarriages and don't know....it is because we may have a bad period (per say) and perhaps extra blood loss but would assume it is our period. Have you experienced any abnormal bleeding? Have you been back to the doctor?

Thank you for the additional information.

"Abnormal bleeding" is any type of bleeding that is not typical or "normal" for most women, most of the time.

"Normal" has a wide range of definitions, but typically women "normally" experience bleeding that is 3-5 days long, once per cycle, and this bleeding has some heavy days, as well as some light days. Normal bleeding can be thicker, have clumps, or be thin. The color can be any combination of red, pink or brown.

If the bleeding you are experiencing is not within this normal range, then this is when you know you may have "abnormal" or "irregular' bleeding. Your doctor is right: if you bleed heavily enough to soak through more than one pad or tampon in an hour, you need to call her immediately.

If you are experiencing severe pain, it is important to call your doctor first thing in the morning. If it is severe enough to disrupt your sleep, you may need to go the emergency room tonight.

If you were over 5 weeks pregnant with confirmed pregnancy tests, and now your doctor is saying that there is no longer a fetus that is viable, your body will have a miscarriage. Some women need assistance in making sure all of the extra tissue is removed after a miscarriage, but only your doctor (after medical exam) would be able to tell you this information. If you are experiencing severe pain, you need to call your doctor to make sure you are progressing okay. From my understanding, you should be experiencing cramping, but not severe pain. It is important to ask your doctor what you should expect when you call tomorrow.

I am so sorry you are going through this right now. Please keep us updated tomorrow.
