Q:

If had chlamydia twice, are you at risk for being infertile?

I've contracted chlamydia twice in my life, both over two years ago, and I'm only twenty... I heard once that if you have an STD multiple times, you have a higher risk for not having children one day. All I've ever wanted to be was a mom...How likely are my chances of being infertile?

Hi, when I was 19 I was with this boy for three months and he split up with me by text! I went the doctors as I didn't seem right underneath and turned out I had chlymedia! I got antibiotics for it and it cleared up and got re tested and was negative, when I was 22 I met someone new and I got tested negative when we first started seeing each other, few months into the relationship I started bleeding inbetween my periods and was hurting when I would pee, so I went the doctors as the spotting wouldn't stop and I was positive! To this day still think he cheated on me with his kids mum as he used to see her to see the kid so he said and then he blamed me for giving it to him then tried to blag that his ex must have gave him it years ago! I'm negative now and I'm a happy relationship, been with my boyfriend one year now and I'm 24, we always talk about are future, not much about having babies yet but I'm worried my past sexual health will stop me from having babies :,( my partner knows about my sexual health, I always get paranoid thinking it can just come back though even when my partner is clean I just feel like it will come back and this worries me! I'm due to have my first cervical screening soon as I'm nearly 25 and just wondering will they check my tubes and make sure there not blocked? I'm scared! I'm nearly 25 and sorting my life out and I want to be a mum one day it's my dream to have a family I didn't have while I grew up. Thanks for reading

Hello guys, I'm 21 and TTC . Me and my fiancé have been trying for about five months now with no positive test yet . I was infected with chlamidiya twice and I'm just wondering if I can have a baby now? Is infertility always the case when you are affected with this ? What should I do I'm so desperate to find answers to why I'm not getting pregnant.

I have chlamydia for the first time and the doctors have given me two antibiotics pills to take. I am really worried and scared I my not have children. I was with my boyfriend in 2012 and broke up and now were in 2014. I had no signs and symptoms of chlamydia until now. Will this effect my chances of having a baby in the future? and what are the chances of fertility?

Just need an answer... If I am still able to have children.
After I fell pregnant with my first child the father and I broke up, but when we got back together he had been sleeping around which I didn't know and he gave me chlamydia. That was back in 2008.
In 2011 I was with a new partner, once that broke up I had a sexual health check up and once again another guy had given me chlamydia. In 2012 i fell pregnant with my second child with yet again a new partner, when I was 17weeks pregnant found out the father of my second child had given me chlamydia.
Every single time I have contracted it I have had antibiotics to get rid of the chlamydia.
It has been almost 3 years since then and I have now been with this new current partner for a while and we want kids together.... Would love to know if I'm still able to have more children.

Thanks Susan. I have stopped that kind of behavior, especially after my second time of getting chlamydia , I use condoms every time. I was treated right away, so it wasn't left untreated long at all, and I have gotten into the routine of regular STD screenings. When I decide to have children, should I do fertility testing at that time to see how much, if any, damage has been done? Thank you for the article.
