Hi KW

Treatment for any brain tumor varies greatly depending on what type of tumor or cells it is made of. Some of them grow so slowly they aren't always treated, but just watched as long as they don't cause problems. Others grow quickly and must be removed. It also depends on where the tumor is in the brain, because if it is near very sensitive structures it may need to be removed to prevent pressure and issues like blindness or difficulty breathing.

Do you know what type of tumor your friend has? If you can let me know, I can point you to resources about treatment.

Thank you for writing, and please let me know how I can help.
