Additionally, if you would like to learn more about perimenopause, you can read this information: -Perimenopause Condition page. Please know we are not here to diagnose you, just offering options for you to learn more about what your symptoms may indicate.

Having your tubes tied is more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, but there have been reports of the tubes "growing" back together, depending on what type of tubal ligation you had.

Your symptoms of hot flashes may indicate perimenopause...or you may just have the flu or a cold (depending on other symptoms) or a late period...it really could be "anything". Since you are 2 weeks late for your period, it is a good idea to take a home pregnancy test to "rule out" pregnancy (since this is your fear).

Also, since this is your first irregular period...please know that you may just be experiencing a late or missed period. This happens to many, many women, and is not indicative of any condition necessarily. Women's bodies "ebb and flow" over the years in regards to their cycles, and you may miss a period for no "apparent" reason; doctors are typically not concerned with a missed period (in the absence of pregnancy and other symptoms) until women have missed 3 consecutive periods, as it is extremely common to miss a period.

Here is some information that may help: How to Know if Your Period is Normal.

as long as you are having periods there is a chance you could be pregnant. do a pregnancy test to be sure. i would also arrange a visit to you local contraception service. this could also be a sign of the menopause, your local contreception service will also go over this with you as well as precautions since you are obviously haveing sex and are not protected against pregnancy?!?!

i work in sexual health :)
